  • Ex2003 Internal Pop Account not Identified as Internal Account

    Hello,

    I have this scenario:

    Windows 2003 R2 SP2
    Exchange 2003 SP2
    AD Domain

The exchange has some accounts that are used only externally, using pop/smtp.

In Exchange 2000, everytime i received an e-mail from those accounts, the sender was "detected" as an internal account, and therefore i could see group membership of those accounts.

In Exchange 2003, those accounts are only "detected" as an Internet e-mail, and i can't see the account information.

The problem is that i used a lot of public folder rules, based on group membership, that worked well in Exchange 2000, and now don't work in Exchange 2003, since the senders are not associated with a group...

In Exchange 2000 it showed something like "Shop 1" and now in Exchange 2003 it shows "Shop 1 [[email protected]]"...

I've browsed the web in the last two days searching for a solution with no sucess...

    Any Ideias?

    Paulo

    Found it...
It was the option "Resolve anonymous e-mail" in smtp configuration.
In the help there is a warning about this option, and I didn't select it...doh!

    Thanks anyways!
