I don't think that this is possible.

Configuring Outlook is a manual job, I'm afraid. Unless other folks can correct me.

The only time that Outlook can autoconfigure itself is if Outlook is already configured for a user. Then, if you move that user's mailbox from one server to another, and then restart Outlook, Outlook can reconfigure automatically - as long as both servers are still reachable.

Nope, sorry Rob, for once that's nonsense. I think there's actually a utility comes with Exchange 2000/2003 which will set up the autoconfig files for you to put into the ".default" user profile, and when a new user logs in he's automatically configured for Outlook. However, not being an Exchange specialist I don't know what the utility is called, where to find it or what its output is; but I know it exists because both of my most recent employers use it to configure their workstation build in advance.

        Bah!

Can't get it right all the time, I suppose

I wasn't 100% sure, but now that you've mentioned that, a numbskull inhabitant is prodding my memory. And I do remember something like that. Time for some research.

And here is some research: http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/prftips.htm

There are two threads asking this at the moment....

Just stumbled across this from a while back.

          Hope it helps.

goto http://goffconcepts.com and download small application to do it. It could support for MS Office 2007.

Microsoft provide the tools for you.
Download the Office Resource Kit tools for your version of Office and then create a PRF file. That can be deployed either as part of the installation or in a login script. The deployment options are discussed in the Office Resource Kit tools documentation on MS web site.
