  • Odd Outlook RPC over HTTP issue

Thanks in advance for your thoughts ...

I've configured and been using RPC over HTTP on an Exchange 2003 server. It's been working great and still does - mostly.

One user, who works from home, suddenly cannot connect any of her computers using Outlook (which I configured and had been working) - until she takes her laptop with her on a trip. Then it works like a dream everywhere she goes, but still not at home. She can use OWA at home.

I don't know what to make of this. Then my boss, a real road warrior, begins to have issues connecting Outlook in some hotels. Again, OWA works fine.

Any ideas on this? Could providers be blocking somehow (Adelphia is the provider for the home-office worker)?

When something like this happens I tend to look at MTU/MRU issues. Some routers do not cope that well with packet fragmentation, and reducing the MTU size for that specific computer might help.
