  • Closed mailbox

    Hi

A user gets that the limit has exceeded (default limit is applied) and the mailbox is closed. When she removes enough items will the mailbox open itself again? Also how would I be able to open the mailbox, where in exchange 2003 can I see that it is closed?

What is the default size limit?

    Re: Closed mailbox

I don't know the default size limits etc, but has she emptied her deleted items folder? (Deleting all mails from it won't necessarily help - you can't see folders in there). Right-click "Deleted Items" and click "Empty".

Users tend to forget that the Deleted Items folder is in their mailbox...

The mailbox is useable again as soon as it's within limits. You can always log in to a mailbox by the way; you just can't send or receive emails.

      Re: Closed mailbox

There is not "default limit" on the mailboxes. You can set the limits in a few places:

      1) The user account properties in DSA

      2) The mailbox limits tab on the mailbox store in ESM

      3) Mailbox policies in ESM

See which one applies in your case.
