  • 2 MS 2003 exchange servers...

    Hello all!

I had a working scenario of exchange over https and worked great with outlook 2003/2007...

    Now suddenlyit doesnt work anymore...

I`ve tried everything, still no success...

So I have decided to set up another win2003 box and a second exchange, which would be a copy of MAIN exchange server...

    Is this possible?

I want local clients go trough LAN and access MS exchange server, but in WAN scenario it would use second freshly installed exchange server to access over HTTPS (with outlook client) and for web OWA access via IE7...

Is it possible to have 2 exchange servers on same domain with exactly the same data?

And possibly without conflicts between them...

    Thanks for answers!

Re: 2 MS 2003 exchange servers...

    1. You can npt have 2 exchange servers with the same data (even Cluster solution will not help you here).
    2. I don't think that installing second exchange server will assist you in this case.
    3. I recomment that you will check the next issues:
    A. What was changed (Windows update, configuration changes, FW...).
    B. Check the Event viewer for further info - since the date that the problem showed up.
    C. What did you checked so far?
    D. Check the FW logs.
    E. If you are using IE6, you can connect the OWA?
    F. Check the permissions on the OWA web site:

    G. Can you connect without SSL?
    H. Are you using FBA (Form Based Authentication)?

A: A few windows updates, and a new firewall

B: Event log shows no problems at all

C: I checked almost everything, FW logs, I did it all over again

D: Checked FW logs, everything is OK

E: Yes, I can connect to OWA with opera, firefox AND IE 6,7

F: OWA permissions doesn`t affect exchange over https with Outlook client

G: Yes I can connect without SSL, but I have port 80 for webserver, which is not on same PC as Exchange is

H: Yes im using FBA, but that does not affect exchange over https with Outlook client

      Thats it...
