  • Autoreply when mail sent to a specific domain in Exchange 2003

    Hi all,

I would like to know how to get Exchange 2003 to send an automatic reply when a user receives an email on one of it's addresses.

Here's the situation: one of our customers has registered a new email domain. I've added an SMTP policy for the new domain to the default policy, so all users now have both addresses for the old domain and the new domain.
The customer wants people who send an email to one of the old emailaddresses to receive an autoreply stating that this domain will be decommissioned and that they should use the new emailaddress from now on.

I've found that I'll probably need a script on the Exchange server that determines at which emaildomain an incoming message is directed and, if it is the old domain, sends an autoreply to the sender.

Does anyone know of any examples of such scripts and instructions on how to implement one?

    Thx in advance,

    Guidovk
