  • Another OMA issue! Tried everything

i Guys, I've posted this in a few places but no answer as yet. Would really
appreciate some help. I've spent days researching this. I have read the postings on this site about various OMA issues and tried many solutions

Iím testing out Exchange 2003 SP2 with sharepoint on the same host. Roadsync is not working, after reading 500 posts i've narrowed it down to the /oma dir.

When accessing the /oma directory from IE I get:

A System error has occurred while processing your request. Please try again.
If the problem persists, contact your administrator. (this seems to be a well known issue)

+ Exchange Event 1501 - No user credentials were found in the HTTP request.
+ Exchange event 1503 - unknown error occurred while processing the current
request:Message: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
    Source: Microsoft.Exchange.OMA.UserInterface
    Stack trace:at Microsoft.Exchange.OMA.UserInterface.Global.Applic ation_PreRequestHandlerExecute(Object sender, EventArgs e)

    I have read many postings.

Have tried http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/817379, SSL is now
disabled just in case. /exchange-oma dir created.

+ Basic Auth is enabled on this directory. I have also followed suggestions
about sharepoint + exchange being hosted on the same box but still no joy.

Have made sure the host headers match the netbios name etc which is another
    suggestion.

Any ideas would be gladly appreciated.

    Thanks.

I believe Simon (Sembee) has an excellent tutorial which goes through step-by-step the configurations necessary for OMA. When I had an error in OMA I followed his tutorial and it worked beautifully. I just don't know where to find it again. Maybe he can post.

Here's one from Daniel: http://www.petri.com/configure_oma.htm. Just make sure it is followed exactly.

Hi, thanks for your response. I have indeed worked thorugh all the OMA howto's on this and a few other sites but no joy. Have recreated the exchange mailboxes and worked through them a second time just to make sure. Getting very frustrated. OWA, exchnage-oma are all working fine. The correct auth methods are in place as far as i can see. I was concerned about sharepoint so I removed the ISAPI filter but that made no difference.

      Thanks

      Rob.

If you aren't using SSL or FBA then you don't need to make the changes in 817379.
When you reset the folders did you remove the registry entry?

            Simon.
