  • 2 domains on one exchange

    Hello all!

I was just wondering, is it possible to have 2 different E-mail domains on one MS exchange 2003 SP2 server?

Lets say that now I have mail: [email protected]. Can I add on the same exchange server [email protected]?

Our mail server is located on another machine, exchange is just for local and HTTPS (RPC) delivery...

I have already created users for the second domain on mail server, I just dont know how to do it with exchange...

    Thanks all!

It's possible. It's been a while since I've had to add a new domain to my\our systems but...

    Rough steps are:

    On your external DNS
Make sure your new domain has an MX record that points to your Exchange Server.

    In ESM
I reckon that if you have already added the new email address to the accounts in AD that should have it, then that's it. I reckon as long as messages from your new domain gets to your Exchange Server and you have recipients with the new address, then all is well.

But if you want all your users to have this additional email address\new domain, then the best way to do this is to use the Recipient Update Service. An article below will show you how this is done.

    Good luck.

Rob probably means "Recipient Policy" and NOT "Recipient Update Service"...

And behold, I have one too, and it was pretty easy to find in Google:
