  • Exchange 2003 (SBS2003) LDAP query question

    Hi all
Im trying to make a query in a new GAL, where I want to show users with specific mail-adresses AND groups with the same adresses.
    When I try Properties->Field->Advanced>User->E-mail-adress->ends with "domain.com" ->add->Find now I get the user-list, as I want.
    But no Mail-enabled Groups. Why?
(On the General tab all Items are selected.)

Trying to add groups using Description instead wont succeed either. If I have only one item i Selection List I have no problem at all.
That is, if I only put groups using the Description I get the Groups list.

Is it possible to have 2 search items ie Users, using mail-adresses AND groups using Description??

    Please help anyone

    Regards from Denmark

You don't need AND, you need OR...

Or is acheived by manually editing the LDAP string.

    Here is an example:

Find all Users with First Name of David

    (objectcategory=user)(cn=David)

Find all Users with First Name of David or Dana

    (objectcategory=user)(|(cn=David)(cn=Dana))

    Another one:

Find all Users, Groups or Contacts where Company or Description is Sales

    (|(objectcategory=user)(objectcategory=group)(obje ctcategory=contact))(|(description=Sales)(company= Sales))

Got it? Edit your query and paste it in a Custom Search window.

After successfully creating the query I'd like to see it here, if you don't mind. I have thought of posting a special thread for these queries, so yours will be a nice addition.
