  • SELF permissions article

    Hi all

    Probably one for Daniel this:

    http://www.petri.com/self_permission..._mailboxes.htm

I was creating some mailboxes and noticed that even with the correct credentials I could not log in using OWA. I searched and found the above article. It states I should be able to log in and the permissions would be completed (not just SELF).

But this didn't work. I sent each account an e-mail and then I was able to log in. Just wondered if this is now the norm with SP2 or is it a glitch or is it just me or am i being stupid etc etc..!!

    Cheers

    Re: SELF permissions article

The permissions on a mailbox are not populated until the mailbox is created. Usually be either the user logging in to the mailbox with Outlook or an email message being sent to the account.

But my point is the article says:

"Log on to the mailbox you've created. You can do so by opening an Outlook profile for the new user and running Outlook, or by opening a OWA session the the destination mailbox by typing http://servername/exchange/username in the address bar of your browser."

But using OWA didn't work so does it have to be outlook and not owa? If so the article needs changing.

        Sorry, sure it does.

        I've just double checked.

Create user, create mbx, update RUS, logon in OWA or Outlook or send an email. Either action will stamp the mbx.
