  • Send from a second email address

All of our users receives E-Mail via several SMTP email address, with
separate domains. for example: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected].
The first address is the set as the primary email address, the others are
listed on the users email property sheet. This all works as expected, email
sent to any of this users email addresses gets into their in box, and any
email sent is sent from the primary address.

What this user wants to do is send email from the other addresses, choosing
a different "from" addresses depending on who he is sending too. I have
configured Outlook to display a "from" field, and tried typing in one of the
non-primary address, but this approach does not work. I get an error:
You do not have permission to send to this recipient. For assistance, contact your system administrator.
    MSEXCH:MSExchangeIS:/DC=com/DC=XXX:YYY

Is there any way I can configure Exchange to allow all the users to send from there non-primary email address?

    Natively - no.
There is a third party tool called "Choose From" from ivasoft.biz which can do that for you.
Otherwise it is separate accounts and the From field.

That is very real, but it is not your problem.

As far as Exchange is concerned, all users only have one email address - the default address. That is used for all outbound email.
All other email addresses on the account are just aliases to the primary address and are used for inbound email only.
