  • Problem with IMF not filtering Spam Messages over 3MB

This is a problem because it causes other applications to fail, is there a way to change the 3MB limit?

Interesting. Didn't see an answer to your question but a good read from what I have seen so far.

I don't see why this is a problem.
I have IMF enabled on countless servers and they are able to receive emails over 3mb without any problems.
If you are receiving spam messages that are over 3mb in size then I don't think the spammer will be in business very long.

The limit cannot be changed, but it shouldn't cause a problem. If you are having problems with receiving emails over that size then the cause is probably elsewhere, not with IMF.

no, that's the problem, it filters most spam EXCEPT ones over 3MB, and i was wondering if you could change the limit, but i guess not

          thanks for your help anyway

if you are indeed receiving spam messages larger then 3mb then you have a different problem. It would seem that your organization is under a targeted attack rather then random spam. IMF would not help you anyway even if you could raise the 3mb limit.

I have never seen a spam message over 3mb.
I guess most people haven't, which is why Microsoft put the limit in place.

I know it logs an error saying it didn't scan it but this is hardly something to worry about. Are you getting other error messages besides 7515?
