  • Only adminsitrators show in global address list with Outlook 2003

    Hello all,

I am bringing my first Exchange Server '03 online this weekend. I have the users loaded in AD and I have created Outlook Exchange Server profiles on the desktops in preparation for the cutover. This is a mix of Outlook 2002 and 2003 installations.

The 2002 versions will allow me to open the shared calendars of the other users from the server. I just discovered that in Outlook 2003, only the two users with administrator priviledge on the server are showing up in the global address list when I try to open a shared calendar. When I go up to contacts in the shared folder dialog, and select a user that is on the server it tells me that user does not exist on this server. I know this is a permissions issue somewhere but I am very green on this server.

    Would dearly appreciate any assistance.

    Les

    RESOLVED!

I had relocated the message folders from C:\program files\exchange.... to E:\Exchange\mailroot\ etc.

The new location did not have authenticated user permissions on the folders. Once this was added, all users appeared in the GAL in Outlook 2003.
