  • Mail Box is Full error

    Hi

    We are running SBS2003 with exchange.

    Mail box limts are are

    Warning message alert - 400mb / 409600kb
    Prohibit send - 450mb / 460800kb
    Prohibits send and receive - 500mb / 512000kb

    I have a user that has been sending mail today and receiving all aof a sudden he is getting cannot send dialouge box and mail is rejected when sent to him saying his mailbox is over its limit.

    I have checked hi mailbox and it is only 130mb well within the limit. Also I checked his user properties and no limit is set there. It is all set from the domian policy.

    There are plenty of people with larger mailboxs and they are operating with out problem it is only him.

    Any ideas?

    - update

    I have just archived all his mail and the mail box is less than 5mb. Still this is happening.

    Did you check his mailbox size:
    1. In the ESM.
    2. right click on outlook today - properties - folder size - total size.

      Has the user archived his send items recently??

      What about deleted items that are still within the retention period but dont appear in your recycle bin unless you wish to restore them?

          2. Do you get the same error in OWA?

          3. If you have an Exchange 2003 Ent - can you move the user's mailbox to a different Mailbox Store?

            tkolber - Thank you ! I think this was the problem.

            Although I did a trusty reeboot at lunchtime and it resolved it. I was talking to anotehr guy and he said he was "playing" with user settings and may have acidently saved settings then changed them back.



            back up and running now!
