  • Journaling in Exch2003

I am looking for a way to exempt a user from Exchange Journaling without having to move to Enterprise edition. I know that the best way to do it is to create another information store but my customer does not want to incur the cost for 1 user.

I tried using Ivasoft's SelectiveJournaling for MS Exchange 2000/2003 program but it does not work correctly and I have been unable to get any support from the developer. This program may be a viable solution but I cannot rely on it due to the lack of tech support.

Any suggestion? I am looking into event sinking as we speak.

Instead of using Journaling with Exchange, does anyone know of another tool that will accomplish the same thing? I would like to have copies of all incoming and outgoing emails but only for specific users.

I made a mistake in my initial posting - this is an Exchange 2000 Server.

Journaling is the only way of doing that. However you will need to look at third party tools to control who is journaled or not.

GFI Mail Essentials has an email monitoring facility, which is basically the same thing.
