    Hi all.

I have a very simple setup of Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 and I simply want my Windows Mobile 5 mobile phones to sync with there accounts using OMA.

I was told all I have to do is stick the IP address of my Exchange server, user name and password and it will just work.

Well it doesn't, so I checked the IIS install and I was missing some of the virtual directories. I re-created these from a friends Exchange server and hoped it would work. It still didn't and so I decided to turn SSL off and use basic authentification.

I still can't get it to work and I all I get on the mobile device is error code 0x85010014 a server error has occured.

When I try a normal pc to to connect to http://myserver/oma I get another message saying " Your account is not configured for wireless access. Please contact your administrator. "

Please can somebody help me sort this out, it's driving me mad.....

    My setup:-

    Exchange server 2003 SP2
QTEK 8310 running windows mobile 5

    Thanks in advance,

    basic auth. = no bueno

is your cert self generated? look on D's site for the importation of the root cert to a mobile.
its easier to beg forgiveness than ask permission.

Have you turned the mobile features on in ESM? It isn't enabled by default.

        Hi thanks for your replies.

I don't wont to turn on SSL as I get other errors with users not being able to open attachments when using OWA. I'm sure that is a I.E. 6 browser problem and I can't quickly deploy I.E. 7

I have enabled the mobile access on the Exchange System Manager.

So are we saying that you can't use basic auth. with oma?

        Thanks in advance,

        Ben

There are no problems with SSL and attachments with Internet Explorer 6.0. If there were then it would be well known and there would be a fix.

I do ALL of my deployments with SSL, the users can only use SSL, nothing else. That has been the case since Exchange 2003 was first released. If you are seeing a problem with attachments when SSL is enabled then you have another problem not related to ssl.

Are you happy about having your usernames and passwords going across the internet in the clear? If you are using http access then that is what is happening.

Ensure that anonymous access is not enabled on any of the Exchange virtual directories except /exchweb.

          Simon.
