  • my exchange server services are not starting

I have exchange server 2003 runing on windows 2003 server.

now it has grown to an extent that the drive allocated to it is full.

I need to know which folders and files are important which I should not remove?

also I need information on how to tackle the problem. os that I can bring up the server and reduce the sizes of mailboxes?

I am novice user of exchange. please be specific on your reply.

    Thaning you.

How about some specific information yourself.
Are both 2003 Server and Exchange Server patched up to date?
What drive is running out of space?
    What are the drive sizes?
What are the drive configurations, RAID 0, 1, 5 etc etc
Have you done an Exchange backup lately using Exchange aware backup software eg NTBackup.exe?
Do you have limits set on the users mailbox size?
How many users do you have?
    etc
    etc

      Dear All,
Sorry for taking time to post update on this thread.

the backup was not happening and my logs were growing and taking up the space.

once the backup was done. the space was released.

      Thanking you.
