  • Disabling Auto-Archiving through Group Policies

Is there any way to disable auto archiving through a group policy? Our firm has created a document that states that our users can no longer auto archive (for legal liability reasons) but they are able to archive emails manually ONLY if they need the information contained within the email. So what we would like to do is disable auto archiving globally through a group policy. Any information on how to do so would be greatly appreciated.

You need to get hold of the Office Resource Kit tools from Microsoft.
There is a different set for each version of Office. If you are running multiple versions of Outlook then you will need to get each one separately.

Install the ORK on to the machine where you do group policy changes and add the inf files in the usual way through the group policy console. Auto archive can be disabled in the Outlook policies.
