  • data partition

    i have exchange 2003 on 2003 srv. i see now that the data partition is almost full.
    what can be done (if any) to free some space?

    if you mean with data partition the database then try to do database maintanace... clean up i remember that there is a command line tool but i forgot the name... i am sure soon some exchange expert will tell us the name

    i found it with google http://support.microsoft.com/kb/328804 its Eseutil but please wait till some exchange expert give here some advice

      No, no need to use Eseutil!

      1. Are your log files in the same locations? Are they flushed on a regular basis by Normal backups?

      2. Do you have enough free space on other drive / disk? Move database or log files to a different location.

        Do you regularly backup your IS? If so, logfiles hould be purged daily.

          Do you know what is using the space?
          Get hold of a free tool called Treesize and run it over that partition and see what it is.
