    Dear,


    i need to change the account information from a certain user. I have created his account on my DC. (windows 2003 server) Now i want to change his display name (e-mail related) I'm running exchange 2003. I openend the user, changed display name under General TAB, simple display name under exchange advanced TAB, alias under Echange general TAB and First and Last name under General TAB. When i try yo send a mail, it still uses the old information. I did some research and updated - rebuild the OAL and RUS. I also tried the solution with the GAL32.exe (didn't work for me... Could change everything exept the displayname.

    What do i need to do to force those changes immediately?

    The only thing i can remember changing is the Display Name when i changed mine.

    Have you allowed AD time to replicate??

      To be honest... I don't know... How to check if i did this right? Can i force replication?

          If you're using outlook to check it then I think it's because Outlook hasn't updated it's copy of the GAL. (if you're using the offline address book)

          Wait until tomorrow and see if it shows up correctly... or update the address book in Outlook.

            On my outlook accounts it seems to work just fine now... Seems like its rather hard to force those updates immediately.

            Though on my OWA i don't see any changes

              Steps for manually making the update are (in this order)
              -make a change to user, contact, or group
              -update the RUS
              -update Outlook's offline address book (see pic)

              I don't know why it's not showing up in OWA. AFAIK you only need to do the first two steps to get it to show up there. And now it is even more perplexing that Outlook has the update but OWA doesn't.
