  • RPC over HTTP problems

I've read multiple articles from this website and Microsoft, but haven't been able to resolve my issue with RPC over HTTPS. Here is my scenario:

Front end MS Exchange server - Windows 2K3 SP1 and Exchange 2K3 SP2. This server holds the SSL certificate for OWA, and also is where the firewall NAT's the traffic to.

Back end MS Exchange server - Windows 2K3 SP1 and Exchange 2K3 SP2. This is an active/passive Exchange cluster with a virtual name/IP address.

Global Catalog server - Windows 2K3 domain controller that is NOT an Exchange server.

The RPC Proxy service is installed on the front end server and the back end server is ticked through System Manager as a RPC over HTTP back end server. When trying to connect Outlook 2K3 outside the LAN, I'm prompted over and over for the UN/PW, or get the error message that the Exchange server must be online to connect.
