    Hello everyone,
    can someone please help me with the question for how to add/create in the exchange server an address list of external and not company's group emails, infact a global address list,so that all the company users would be able to see this list in their outlook ?

    Thanks allot in advanced.

    Re: external address list in Exchange 2003

    1. Create a mail enabled contact for each of the external addresses;
    2. Go to the Exchange System manager and locate All Address list. Create a new address list using the following filter: Contacts with external e-mail address

        Re: external address list in Exchange 2003

        The problem with building an address list of external users is that you have to create a mail enabled contact for each.

        ADUC, right click on users and choose New, Contact.
        That will display them in the GAL unless you hide them.
        Then you also get the problem of keeping them up to date, as the only people who can update the addresses are those that have the Active Directory tools and permissions.

        Another way to do it would be to use a public folder. Create a Public Folder through Outlook of type Contacts and create the contacts and lists in there.

        If you are going to be regularly emailing the same people and it is going to be a large list, you may want to look at some kind of list management software such as Lyris. That will help you manage the bandwidth use and message delivery.
        It will also help with delivery problems. Exchange doesn't do large numbers of external contacts in its database very well, so you have to be careful with how it is done.

        Simon.
