  • MVMM Profile - Tonyyeb

MVMM awardees will be featured on the Wall of Fame. Here is the info submitted to us by our third MVMM - Tonyyeb:

Well what can I say! Many thanks to the people who nominated me. I came to the Daniel Petri forums for help but soon found I could repay the help I got by helping others. And that’s what I like about these forums over others. There’s no “Use the search, this has been asked before” attitude, or “How dumb are you??!” statements. Everyone has their abilities and I think anyone here can help someone else in their own way.

A little about me has been asked for so here goes. I’m 25 (ish) and live in a city called Hull in England. I have been in or around Hull most of my life.

I started in IT at the age of 7 with my older brothers Tandy TRS-80. I used to input the BASIC games and he would play them! Then I moved onto a Spectrum +2 then a +2A and then a +3!! (That’s the one with the 3” solid disk system!) And so IT moved on and so did I with my Amiga 600 (still a passion of mine www.winuae.net) and then onto my first PC… a 386 25mHz with 2mb of RAM! It was pants compared to my Amiga but support for the Amiga was dwindling, Commodore had since been sold on and liquidated that many times that not even they knew who owned them!

After a few jobs working for small IT companies (www.solwise.co.uk and www.ydl.co.uk and www.intrasource.co.uk ) I got a job as a Network Technician for a medium sized college in East Hull (www.wilberforce.ac.uk – we didn’t do it! It is outsourced!). After a few years (hard) work I was promoted to Network Manager. And here I am, after nearly 5 years looking after my own 15 server, 500 clients network… and I love it!

Thanks again for all the help guys, I would still be searching google groups for most of my problems if it wasn’t for the help and support you have all provided!

Congratulations Tony! If you choose option 1 from ManageNet, that would be 10 license each maaaaaate.

After evaluating it, I hope you give us some feed back on your prize and how well it integrates into your network.

One thing i forgot to add in my biog is that my real name is Chris and my username is a tribute to a former Leeds United & Ghana International footballer called Tony Yeboah. A minor cult legend from where im from. Anyway just a quick addition! Oh and thanks for the kind words!

Very true Cool Spot! Plus the one against Wimbledon, that and the one against Liverpool won goal of the month and I think the latter won goal of the season. Cracking!!

Now all you need to do is take this conversation to the Coffee Lounge, and have a link to the goal for us all to see and admire!
