    2. Creating an Active Directory
    3. Configuring DNS Service

    4. Joining Client Computer to the Domain

    Re: MCSE Tutorials ?

I know this reply is but the thread is about to turn one.....

Curt, if you want to learn about DFS and other Filer Server options, then I can throughly recommend Train Signal's File Server CBT videos. Rather than just reading about what you need to do to configure it, you get to see how it is all setup. I found it really good!!

    Re: MCSE Tutorials ?

Hi, my name is Curt and I am new to the Forum.

I mostly hang out on the Minasi site.

Anyway, Tutorials for MCSE test mean that the interest is in passing the test.

Not that the test are correct, but passing the test is an important thing for some people.

For our company, Certs mean Gold Partner compentency with Microsoft and we get margin on sales based on our points from our Certs.

But passing the test does not really help a person be proficient in the field.

What I like about try to get Certs is what you learn in the process and how you can use what you learn at work and for your clients.

Now I have never done a DFS root, but I know it's on the test. So I will lab out one so I can really know what I am talking about. No client has ever asked for one. Not having alot of time, it's something I can put off, but if it's going to be on a Cert test, then yes I will attempt to get hands on experience with it.
I advise anyone else to do so as well.

I thought this was current untill I checked the date stamps.

Obviously daniel was a bit bored last night and decided to check through a few old threads

10 months into the making, this document should be really really good

    Re: MCSE Tutorials ?

http://www.trainsignal.com have the best tutorials. Why read reams and reams of paper (or bloody thick books) when you can watch a nice relaxing movie and see how it is done correctly. Fine tuning can be done at a later stage when the basics are fully understood.

Man, I don't know. If you want please be my guest. I will upload your tutorials gladly. However you should know that there are so many of them all over the Internet I don't think these will make any difference.

    But feel free to try.
