  • Area for to cover other areas of networking like dns?

I guess as an example, DNS questions would probably fall under the OS that you are trying to implement under - ie Windows Server 2003.

However there might be value in having a section for this kind of stuff in general terms? OS independant?

    What do you think?

You would probably end up having so many smaller forums such as DNS, AD, RIS, IIS, DHCP, RRAS etc which means we need more and more mods to police them and may cause more confusion.

Were in the process of changing the forums at the moment and making it a bit more simpler / relevant

I guess DNS has a relevance out side of the microsoft environment also...
As in how to setup / configure / troubleshoot dns for your domain, MX records etc..

where as AD, RIS, RRAS is always going to be in the context of what version of windows you are running it on....

      Thanks for your thoughts....
Am sure there are other examples in the vein of DNS that others can suggest???

As always, if you are not sure where to put a thread, put it in the misc forum, add a comment about being unsure and a mod or admin will move it to a more appropriate place.

As said, we are looking at 'rationalising' the layout of the forums and I suspect the "DSL, Cable and Other BB issues" may become a "Networking Issues" forum
