      Re: Mensa Test

And if English is not your mother tongue then you've got no chance.

      Or this: 9 P in S A = 9 provinces in south africa

How on earth is one supposed to guess that? This is crap.

      Now why don't you G & L for H W M Y...

You're not suppose to guess. You are supposed to know it, or have learnt it. Its a test of intelligence not how good you are at guessing!

Well then what about Q29. We have always called the game Draughts. Checkers is the American name for the game. How are you gong to know that one if you are lucky enough not to have been bombarded with American TV programs.
          1 1 was a racehorse.
          2 2 was 1 2.
          1 1 1 1 race 1 day,
          2 2 1 1 2

            Re: Mensa Test

Well excuse me for not agreeing, this is NOT a test of intelligence, it's a test of your knowledge of the english language, and even that is very problematic.

I am 100% sure that no non-native English speaker can fully pass such a test, just as you yourself would score a perfect 0 in the language sections if you had to take one of the tests that we have here in Israel for getting into the universities.

Any test that includes language parts might be perfect for some, but totally useless for others that are not fluent with that language.

                  Re: Mensa Test

The real intelligence test in all those online quizzes comes at the end, when they congratulate you for your score, invite you to do a paid test, and try to make you sign up for their club.

If you accept the offer, you've failed the test.

Well for a start the test is in english, the instructions are in english and the answers are in english. it is fair to say that anyone doesn't speak english would struggle to get 1 right... the same would be said if i did the french or german test! Like it says at the bottom, it is good test of intelligence... scientifically proven. End of story on that point.

And while most (english/american) people will not get 100%, they will look at the answers and know / heard of 95% of them. The intelligent part is being about being able to spot them.

                      Re: Mensa Test

Not correct. Having instructions in English will not give you a clue to the fact that you can or can't pass this test with a score of even 60%.

Why not read a medical book, in English, that describes how to perfom brain surgery, without having proper medical training and education. Will you be able to successfully perform the surgery? Why not? The instructions are in plain English, and clearly, anyone with a good understanding of the English language can follow these simple instructions. Can't they? Oh, then they must not be intelligent.

                      End of case.
                      Cheers,

Why are you even bothering to argue this one, Daniel. Its not even me you should be having a go at... its mensa. They have determined this test based on scientific findings....

Because YOU keep saying that this test is accurate.

Oh never mind. It really doesn't matter.

i'm sorry but this has nothing to do with any Intelligence.
I think if you want to do some kind of intelligence test, then find a IQ test or something.

                            that site isn't representive.

use google to find an IQ test in you're native language...
