  • Armistice / Veterans Day

At this time of year, many of us pause and remember the moment, 93 years ago, when, on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, the guns fell silent in Europe.

Wherever you come from, please take a moment today to remember those, past and present, of every nation, race and creed, who put themselves "in harm's way" and give their lives so that we can live without fear and enjoy free speech.

"They shall not grow old as we who are left grow old, age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them"

The epitaph carved on the memorial of the 2nd British Division in the Kohima War Cemetery in India reads:

Someone I know made a photo/video impression about it with photography meeting.
I thought it was quite impressive: Trenches War (in Flanders Fields)
