  • Windows 8 - Thoughts?

I installed the Windows 8 Developer Preview so I could err preview it. Not impressed and while I know it is a "preview" version, from past experience of MS releases I would suggest the RTM product will vary little from this.

I was astounded by the amount of sceen space the Ribbon consumed in Windows Explorer, even on a high res screen.

As the thread title says, your thoughts of this Preview will hopefully make for an interesting read.

From what I've heard (note not tried it yet -- will when I'm back to base) it is geared more for the FondleSlab(TM) users than mainstream kb/mouse people who want things like screen area and ability to edit stuff

i grabbed it down and tried to fire it up as a VM, but it got to the windows developer preview splash screen, then went into a reboot loop.. so i couldn't even install it

          I'm getting this:

          vcpu-0:NOT_IMPLEMENTED vmcore/vmm/intr/apic.c:1796

i think people are not havin much luck with it on vmware workstation/server.
I don't want to install virtualbox just to test it..
