  • Business Continuity certification path

I am seeking to become a certified professional/auditor but I am unsure as where to certify with as the results yielded by google actually seem kind of shady or non industry standard.

Can anyone recommend something worth my time and pennies? The most promising I have found this far is DRii but even with that I have my doubts.

    Thanks in advance!

Identify the specific certifications you want and/or standards you want to be certified to and you'll be able to narrow it down. "Business Continuity" is a little broad

IMHO start with getting some standard qualifications (MCSE/MCITP(EA)) and then get more specific.

Definately have IT-specific qualifications first. Business continuity covers the vast majority of business processes - it's a generic framework to build around, for instance like applying PRINCE2 to IT project management.

          Re: Business Continuity certification path

Thanks for the feedback guys, as you can see in my signature I am pretty well decorated with experience and certs

Since I consult with various customers daily on how to go about disaster recovery and adding more resilience in general I am pretty experienced in this field already but since there no real certification that you can pinpoint and set out to achieve I thought id post here and see what new links come to light.

            Re: Business Continuity certification path

            maybe this?

            http://www.thebcicertificate.org/index.html
As the leading professional association of business continuity professionals, the Business Continuity Instituteís internationally recognized certification, the CBCI, is rapidly becoming the de facto standard for individual practitioners and organizations alike. Membership of the association instantly demonstrates a professionalís level of experience and an organizationís high level of recruiting standards. Members enjoy access to Continuity, the BCIís award winning magazine, workshops, forums and the largest BCM professional network in the world, supporting over 5000 members in 90 countries and growing.
i can't comment on whether this is what you are looking for, as i have not yet seen a job offer which mentions this certification.
i always go along the lines of ITIL and the BSI Standard (official german standard for business continuity managment) and make sure to point out extensive experience with those in my cv. that is usually enough
