    I am not too sure why they needed this anyway.
    Vista indeed sucked upon release but got much better since then, why not just add to it instead of going and making another OS?
    My guess is that there won't be too many new features or changes in Windows 7, they could just create windows vista SP2

    Windows 7 is going to be windows vista based correct? they are not writing all the code from the beginning like they did to vista.

      Current date to release Windows 7 is on january 2010.
