  • Vista Business 0.0.0.0 gateway

We are having an odd occurence on our network: 50+ users - all Vista Business & 2003/2008 servers. At random times, a user's workstation will loose connection to the internet.. still able to see the domain.. upon inspection, their IPCONFIG settings show a default gateway of 0.0.0.0 ..
Internet connection cannot be restored unless a) PC is restarted.. b) local routing table is edited for removal of 0.0.0.0 route and NIC is disabled/enabled to refresh DHCP.

Any help to understand this phenomenon will be greatly appreciated!!

I don't know but are the clients up to date with pathes and the latest drivers?
Have you checked the cabling and switches?

      Re: Vista Business 0.0.0.0 gateway

If you set one to static does it happen?
Do the 2003/2008 machines also pickup DHCP and if so lose the gw?
Any errors on the DHCP server? Is it patched up (inc the tcp chimney thing?)
Any duplex issues on the switches etc?
      cheers
