  • Home Premium VPN connection to work domain

    Hi,

I have a user that has Vista Home Premium SP1 on his personal laptop.
I am aware that home premium can't join a domain, but is it possible for him to login to the network by VPN to get files from his home?
He has an domain account on our Win2003 server.

A brief search says that, yes Vista Home Premuim does indeed have the ability to connect to a VPN. Furthermore, you shouldn't have any problems connecting to the VPN endpoint with the credentials of a domain user regardless of if the computer is a member of the domain. I do it all the time.

Hey thanks, I guess something server/client side isn't configured right in that case...

I agree Home Premium does not have the option to join a domain. Upgrade to business or ultimate to beable to join a domain.
