  • MSG.exe missing on Windows Vista cmd

I am running Windows Vista Home Premium O/S on my laptop. When I go to the command prompt (start->run->cmd) and type 'msg /?' I get the error message " 'msg' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file".

Msg.exe is the replacement for the deprecated NET SEND command. On my vista home premium system it's apparently missing.

(For more info please refer to the article "MSG.EXE replaces Net Send in Windows Vista".)

I am considering opening a ticket with Microsoft to solve this problem. Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Apparently Windows Vista Home Basic and Home Premium editions do not have the msg.exe command installed. It works on Vista Business.
