  • Run a program in admin mode, without right clicking

    Hello!

I am new here, so first off...

    Hi everyone!

    Down to business...

I have several corrupt files in vista, and so whenever i right click, windows explorer crashes.

I can fix it, but I need admin privileges (run cmd.exe as admin)

So, is there an argument (just a random example - tracert -h 100 www.com) to run as admin?

Why do you not have admin rights to your own computer?

Also, what does a command that traces the route to a domain over a maximum of 100 hops have to do with your problem?

The administer recognition files (files that assign and recognize Admin privileges, along with some other core files) have been damaged,

      second,
That was just an example for those who do not know what an argument is.

      Figured it out.

click start (in vista) type in the program, hold ctrl+shift, press enter.

      *new problem* (new topic?)

How to open the properties of a program with out right clicking (right clicking crashes Windows explorer)

Please do not say "Re-install Windows".

That is not an option right now

Click the requested icon and then Alt+Enter. You'll get the Properties window.
You have to take in consideration the fact that this cannot go on forever... Soon, you will have to reinstall. Have you checked the Event log for reasons of Windos Explore crashes?

Faulting application explorer.exe, version 6.0.6001.18000, time stamp 0x47918e5d, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 6.0.6001.18000, time stamp 0x4791a7a6, exception code 0xc0000374, fault offset 0x000b015d, process id 0x1748, application start time 0x01c8fcc5ff901a50.

I know what is breaking, but is there a way to FIX this?

I have every resource available (Vista repair console, re-install disk) etc.

I just want to see if I can Fix this.

Maybe you can try to do a system restore or replace the dll file and see if can rectify the problem.

Re: Run a program in admin mode, without right clicking

              This issue has been resolved.

              The problem was ntdll.dll

The underlying problem was the right click context menu (there was some sort of secuROM from the Command & Conquer 3:Kane's Wrath Patch 1.01)

              This was fixed using ShellEXView.

              THANKS!
