  • New Remote Desktop in Vista SLOW!!! Why?

Have anyone noticed that the new Remote Desktop in Vista is much much slower than XP Pro?

On the same internet connection, 2 different laptops, about the same hardware, the Vista one is much slower, there is lag even on mouse click or mouse movement, while on the XP machine, it's very fast as if I was using my local machine.

I searched and found a few topics on other forums but haven't got a good answer to this.

anyone has a fix to this?

What version of Vista are you running? Home versions do not support RDP.

Re: New Remote Desktop in Vista SLOW!!! Why?

For what it's worth, I use remote desktop on Vista a lot and it's as fast as it ever was on my XP installation (same laptop), no problem for me.
      Best wishes,

it's a Vista Home Basic... i think that explains why.

but the Remote Desktop Connection is available in the standard feature... strange.

Yes, I know. It's there, but it's not supported, and although it runs, it runs much slower than it should.
