  • VISTA TCP/IP Question

After Running TCP Optimizer to Tweak my Connection. This Is What I get about the Rwin.

RWIN is not fully optimized (even though it is a comparatively large number). The unscaled RWIN value is lower than it should be. Also, RWIN being close to and above 65535 does not justify the header overhead of enabling TCP 1323 Options. You might want to use one of the recommended RWIN values below.

    SpeedGuide.net TCP Analyzer Results
    Tested on: 09.19.2007 12:23
    IP address: 68.105.xxx.xxx

    TCP options string: 020405b40103030201010402
    MSS: 1460
    MTU: 1500
TCP Window: 65700 (multiple of MSS)
    RWIN Scaling: 2
    Unscaled RWIN : 16425
    Reccomended RWINs: 64240, 128480, 256960, 513920
    BDP limit (200ms): 2628kbps (329KBytes/s)
    BDP limit (500ms): 1051kbps (131KBytes/s)
    MTU Discovery: ON
    TTL: 49
    Timestamps: OFF
    SACKs: ON
    IP ToS: 00000000 (0)

Any Ideas would be great, Hell I'm Stumped. LOL And I've been googleing alot on this. Dos not seem to hurt anything on this setup. Just a Lot more bandwith.

    Thanks Gent's and or Ladies

    Re: VISTA TCP/IP Question

After spending my day looking more into this matter, I've come to the final solution. Had to into TCP/IP and uninstall some of the Cluter. Now we no longer have are Rwin Problem. And things are much FASTER... Zoom, Zoom, Zoom..

        Re: VISTA TCP/IP Question

Did not Install anything. It's a Program designed to set and change your RWIN,
and TCP/IP Connection to increase your bandwith on up and down.

You can see this @ www.speedguide.net It's Called TCP/IP Optimizer.
And it does help alot. As My Hop count goes from 112 to - 49 that is TTL (Time To Live) See what you think for yourself. I've been useing this for years now.
There also a patch there to unlimet the TCP as in How many Connections are alouded. WinXP SP2 has it set to 10, this will change this 50 or more, it's a usher pref. Not a Virus and not a trojen. it just rewrites TCP.sys.

Anywho Got done what I needed to do, and dumped some of the Other Network
addons in network connection. As I don't need them and am getting full bandwith
with about 30 Mbp Down and 500 + upload. Cox Cable Connection Az.

        But Thanks !!
