  • How do I unlock Vista desktop if another user locked it?

    Hello,
A user locked his computer by pressing ctrl+alt+del.
In XP if you are in a domain you can provide the administrator username and password and that will logoff the user how locked the computer.
But in Vista there is no option to do it.

    Any advice will be welcome.

    Thanks

    Ziv,

In Vista, when a computer is locked you should have the option to Switch Users. When selected you will have to enter your username with the domain-computername before the usersname. ex. domainlocal\username or computername\username and then your normal password for that user. (This depends on computer policy, it may be set to disable User Switching)

Another option is push and hold the power button and do a hard shutdown/restart on the machine which should bring it back up to the Welcome to Windows Ctr, Alt, Del to login page.

    Hope this helps.
