Right click the folder click properties. Click the customize tab, then select music icons from the drop down list.

Not sure if this will fix the problem, but it might,.

Try changing the theme to something else then back again. It will usually change the icons, especially if you choose the windows classic theme.

              Hi,

did you try open the picture folder, right click the Pictures icon on the left menu just under Music and over Videos, then properties and change icon.

I tried on my machine and I can get the icon changed to what I want...

I don't see that option "change icon". How about a screenshot?

What you're dealing with is a shortcut. The issue the OP mentioned was something totally different.

Re: A really annoying, niggly thing happened

Please make this steps to fix it:

                          1. Open My Computer
                          2. On the left right click "Pictures"
                          3. Change the icon using the properties->change icon

I tried on my Vista Ultima and this works fine, it will change the icon to what I prefer in all the dialog.

The try you did was opening EXPLORER, this is not what I did.

OK, I think I know why you're having the issue and how to fix it. (I don't know what it's called though )

-Go to the properties and select the Customize tab. Check to see if there's a Change Icon... button (there wasn't one for me)

-Now go to the properties of the music folder and you should see a Change Icon... button on the Customize tab.

-Go ahead and click it. The icon you're looking for is located in %windir%\system32\imageres.dll

Can you tell I got my hands on a Vista machine today?
