Can't imagine that catching on in a big way. Home users won't care and won't find out about it, and the vast majority buy it OEM when they buy a PC anyway. Maybe a few families with an IT Pro in the house will benefit.

I'm not fully up to speed with it, but everything I've read so far about Vista's licensing has given me serious heart pulpitations!
    I nerd therefore I am!

It looks like it is aimed at the family who have multiple PCs and several school users. Very clever bit of work if they can make it so normal people can understand how it works. Not like the rest of their licensing nightmare.

If they can make it so that people will know exactly where they stand with the OS then i can see it being a success.

The way the licence is worded will confuse people and they will probably boycott it for that purpose.

This could also mean that OEM's that build PC's could in theory offer systems for less money due to the fact that they don't have to buy a licence.

Many benefits but we shall wait and see.
