  • Change Keyboard Layout Icon in Windows 8

    Hi All,

In Win 7 I used to be able to set different keyboard icons depending on which keyboard layout I was using, it was an excellent way to see at a glance if I was using a US layout or a Dvorak layout (see screenshot below).

I can't see any way to do this in Windows 8 .
But I'm wondering if the icon change in Windows 7 is registry based and if I were to create a similar registry entry in Win 8 if I might have some luck..?

Anyone know how I can setup Win 8(.1) to show different icons for different keyboard layouts? OR know a small utility that might do the job?

I've been using this online backup for all my photos, docs, spreadsheets, powerpoints & emails for years now & it works great.

Yes you can show the language being used for keyboard layout on Windows 8.1. Follow the path

Control Panel > Language > Advance Settings > Change Language bar Hot Keys > Language Bar > Show Additional Language Bar icons on Taskbar.

Which does not help the OP solve their actual problem. Please read and THINK before posting
