  • Cannot connect to Ms-Exchange using HTTP on Windows 8 Client

    Hello Guys,

Have recently deployed windows 8 Ent. Post deployment I've observed that the MS-Outlook client 2010 is unable to connect to MS-Exchange using HTTP. Our exchange infra has been configured to connect via HTTP.

For IE we use Proxy automatic configuration (PAC)

Note: With Windows XP and Windows 7 Clients - I've never had any issues in connecting to MS exchange via the Proxy PAC.

any suggestions and advise would be appreciated

What does the Outlook connectivity screen show you?
(CTRL+Right click on Task Tray icon and go to "Connection Status")

Hello. You can activate logging on the client and then examine the log to see if they can help.

I can't post links yet but if you google search for the words.
        enable logging outlook 2010
        its the first link.
Don't forget to say thanks by giving "Kudos" to those that help solve your problems.

          Hi,
Are you able to ping your exchange server's IP?

Are you able to ping exchange server with it's host name?

Are you using outlook in cache mode?
