We'd need more to go on, Sayed72. Our crystal balls are out for dry cleaning just now.

*-Is this a stand-alone PC or in a domain?
*-Have there been recent updates or changes applied/new software installed?
*-Does the RAM or CPU use rate go sky-high when these problems are experienced?
*-Can you post the text of some of these COM errors?

COM errors usually point to some piece of software which either wasn't installed correctly, or a previous correct install got stepped on by something else. MS Dot NET framework installs are problematic, as well. We could give you better ideas or spot a specific cause if we had answers to the questions above.

Drive defrag, chkdsk, clean out fan....
Page file, startup apps, profile size....

What is slow - boot, logon, operation?
Have you run any benchmarks or gathered any performance data?

          Re: Windows 7 is slow

          Hi all,

          Thanks for the reply.

          Here is the configuration:
          RAM 8GB.
          O.S Windows seven.
          Anti virus: Bitdifender.

          Error #1:
          com surrogate has stopped working.

          Error #2:
desktop.ini suddenly appears on my desktop.

          Troubleshooting done:

          For Error #1:

          a) Click Start
          b) Right click on Computer, and select Properties.
          c) Click on Advanced System Settings, click the Advanced Tab
          d) In the Performance section, click Settings
          e) Select the "Data Execution Protection" tab, and then click the 'Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select' option.
          f) Click the Add button, and then browse to C:\Windows\System32\dllhost.exe
          g) Click open, click OK on the warning message.
          h) Click Apply/OK.

          For Error #2:

Enabling the Hide protected operating system files (Recommended) setting in Folder Options hides the two Desktop.ini files, as well. To access the Folder Options, open Windows Explorer, click Organize, click Folder and Search Options and select the View tab.

The problem of PC slow is solved now as i was only facing difficulty opening My computer. Which is solved now. But i am facing above two error still please help me!!!

            Re: Windows 7 is slow

What usually triggers the error message about the COM Surrogate?

Have you had a look at the event logs - application and system - to see if anything is being logged when the error appears?

Have you also tried tehcamel's suggestion and run sfc /scannow?

                Re: Windows 7 is slow

I had this in the past, after a windows update when viewing photos in photo viewer i got the com error.
I think i had to take ownership of the files before i could replace them.
                Good luck.
