  • prevent users from copying exe files on thier PCs

    Hi All ,

the same as the file screening , is it possible to screen and control what users copy on the hard disk.

for example , if i need to prevent users from saving exe files on thier hard disk

do you know any sofware that could do this job ?

    Thanks

group Policy would allow you to prevent executable files not matching a particular hash from running. It wouldn't necessarily stop them from being saved, but it would stop them from running - which may as well be the same thing.

        Agreed.

Be careful with the first applocker policy you create however. It will insist on creating a default ruleset for you and if you dont make a good decision there, you can encounter some unexpected results when you deploy it. That said, its a great technology with some nice options for very granular control over what can and cannot be executed.
