  • TrustedInstaller Keys blocking installs

We have a problem with our Windows 7 PC's on our domain.
We are frequently seeing programs such as flash player, IE 9 and itunes not installing correctly due to them being unable to change keys owned by trustedinstaller.
The biggest one is when people upgrade to IE 9, IE suddenly does the open for half a second and close again thing.
This can only be repaired by re-registering all the dll's and running processmon to see which keys are being denied and then change the permissions to each key.
This seems pretty weird considering IE is an MS app.
Anyone have any idea why this would be happening?

Have you checked that your network doesn't have an infection, root kit, malware etc running lose on it?

Can you copy & paste the command line below at: Start / Search programs and files on one of those computers,
      cmd.exe /c ">%temp%\$ 2>&1 (sc.exe qc TrustedInstaller &sc.exe sdshow TrustedInstaller &sc.exe queryex TrustedInstaller)&start notepad.exe %temp%\$"
Hit the Enter key to run the command. Copy the results (will be showed in a notepad window) and paste it in your reply.
