  • UAC Question

    Hi,

If I start a program with UAC elevation and that program creates a file in, let's say, C:\Data\ folder, how can I assign permissions to that file so that when the same program is run as a non-elevated user that same file can be modified.

Read below for further details. I am working on a program and have an installer for it. The installer runs with elevated privileges and towards the end I spawn my program. The problem is that since the installer was elevated, my program also runs in elevated mode the first time. If a user creates a data file while elevated, that data file cannot be modified later on when the same program runs without elevation.

I don't know if this matters, by my program is written in Java.

    Thanks,
    Petarian
