So, from you MCITP training, you should have some other troubleshooting tools and techniques...

Anything in the Windows Event logs?
Anything in any VMWare setup logs?

Just a thought... Doess VM Player need virtualisation enabled in the BIOS -- and is it?

Have to say, for MCITP I would have thought you would have gone for hyper-v

Re: problem installing vmware on win7

Firstly, Are you sure it is the setup for the Player, the windows shows "Workstation" in the title. If you do not downloaded VMware player by yourself and have not downloaded it from the VMWare site? then do that first.
Else... are there perhaps other files in the folder other than the setupfiles for the player? - remove these first.

Secondly, Is not the latest version of VMware Player that you try to install.
The player is for free so download the latest version and try that one.

      Notes,
If during installation of VMware Player an installation of VMware Workstation, VMware ACE, VMware Server, or old version of the player is detected on the machine, the VMware Player installation could display an error message and abort.

You might need to re-register the original versions of jscript.dll and vbscript.dll on the computer if you still get a blanc setup screen.

Try installing with you AntiVirus and firewall disabled.

        Answers for rems & Ossian
Firstly, don't look at the title, I took it from another site.
I tried to install 2 deferent players and one workstation from several options including VMware site.

The file is the only file in the folder.

Secondly, I tried to install these three options:
        {removed name of illegal software - TehCamel}
        2. VMware-player-4.0.2-591240
        3. VMware-player-4.0.1-528992
And I've got the same results.

I've got no meseges during the installation, this pic was the only thing that happend trying to install...

        I Disabled the antivirus (nod32)

VM Player needs virtualisation enabled in the BIOS and it is On.

        thank for helping

It's a new computer which came with the original Dell driver.
                I didn't change a thing.

                I installed several programs easily
