  • File modifications in PC's in Customer Support area

    Dear All,

We have in our company customer support area where we have 5 PC's with Win 7 Pro. The employees work here in shifts like 5 guys in morning shift, then they go and batch of other 5 come.

Now when evening shift guys come OR morning shift employees, many times they complain that the other guy manipulated their data, their files etc. due to which they are unable to run application etc. This is really giving us problems.

I need to ask how to prvent all this so that one shift employee can only work for his files ONLY and can not make any changes to other user files which are on same Hard disk of local PC, OR kindly suggest a suitable way and practice that is followed in such places like 'Customer Support Areas'

FYI there is Windows 2000 domain exists in our network.

    thanks,

There are user accounts, but as they are technical support staff. They can access others files by Documents & Settings > Users > from there they can go any where like for items saved on desktop profile of another user etc.

That is what I want to prevent.

        Permissions on User Profiles?
Basically, don't give them local admin rights if they can't be trusted not to abuse them

Enable Auditing and then you should be able to check if someone is dicking with the other files.
