  • Can't connect to a domain

    I don't know what I am missing but I everytime I try to change from a workgroup to my domain controller it keeps telling me that the AD controller cannot be located? What am I missing?

    Hard to tell with so little info.

    Do you have an IP on the machine that you are attempting to add to the domain?

    Can you Ping your domain controller by IP? By Host name?

        most likely DNS issues.

        can you ping the domain controller by it's full hostname?

          I had this issue when I was messing around in a test environment.

          After I set the client workstation's DNS address to the server, it worked.
