Can I check this is right
You are running Win7 as a virtual PC with XP (virtual mode) within that?

But anyway, check you are installing the 32 bit version of XPMode

Re: XP Mode... Windows Virtual PC has stopped working

I checked Windows 7 and XP Mode they are 32bit plus the 2 updates that are part of XP Mode install package.

Could this be related to the Dell E6410 hardware?

Re: XP Mode... Windows Virtual PC has stopped working

Check the sticky at the top of this forum, the hardware requirements for Virtualization Technology have been removed. There's a new version of XPM for that, so I'd try installing it.

Re: XP Mode... Windows Virtual PC has stopped working

          Update to my original post
I have made the following changes
          1. I have updated the Bios from Dell for E6410
          2. I have change the hard drive mode in the Bios to ATA instead of Raid on
          3. Reinstalled Windows 7
Now the VM starts to load and crashes. The error message... VMWindows.exe crashed. I have searched Google cannot find anything that will help.
I changed the hard drive mode to ATA in the bios; I was hoping that it could not communicate with the hard drive in Raid on mode.
          Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Re: XP Mode... Windows Virtual PC has stopped working

Ok.. I know you said you turned VT Off, then on again in the BIOS, but try this.

Reboot the computer, enter the bios.
            Turn it OFF
            Reboot again.
            Turn it ON
Reboot into the OS, then try.

the other thing you can try and do is grab the dump file, if one exists.. and interpret it using windbg?
