  • schtasks from Windows 2003 to Windows7 returns "Network path was not found"

    When scheduling a task from Windows 2003 to Windows 7, "Network path was not found" error is reurned. But the schedule tasks from Windows2003 to Windows XP works fine. On Windows 7, the Remote Scheduled Tasks management check box is checked in the Windows firewall settings for all domains. Any ideas???

    Thanks
    Tom

    Check that the Win7 PC is not 'asleep' or in hibernation mode when the scheduled task is due to run.

      Win 7 is not asleep when schtasks is running.

      The following is the test I ran:

      schtasks /QUERY /S <IP_address of destination>

      From XP Or Windows 2003 to Windows 7 gives "Network Path not found" error
      Windows 7 -> XP gives "Access Denied" error
      Windows 7 to Windows 2003 is OK
      XP -> XP is Okay
      Windows 7 -> Windows 7 is also OKay

        It may be by design. Have a look at a similar issue here: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/...6-d3f9d7d4e043

          What type of network are you connected to? Public? One of the Private types?
          Check that Network Discovery is ON.
          Ping from the 2003 Server to the Windows7 computer replies OK?
